Default Bahia Tulum Resirt-Mexico

FYI- the resort was on fire last night. The lobby of the resort is gone. That is according to family members that we're staying in the resort attached to it. If anyone is leaving for this resort,it would be wise to contact your travel agent.

Beautiful resort. Was there last year.

Not sure what's to catch on fire however

Trying out the Merida el Cid this year.

Having been at the Grand Sunset Princess about 5 years ago when part of it exploded killing 7 people, I can assure you that it will be cleaned up, boarded up, in no time flat.

People arriving will have no idea what happened and will get zero explanation from any staff. Life will continue at that resort as if nothing ever happened. Hopefully their tour operators provide better assistance than sunquest ever did for us.

Sad that it happened, but happy to read that there were apparently no injuries and the fire was put out quickly!

i stayed at the princess in the upgraded bungalows and left days before the explosion. I fought the wife to leave at a certain point, had we left when she wanted we would have been there during the explosion.

Just off the plane from Playa Del Carmen. Never heard boo but might explain why the Cancun airport was exceptionally busy. Another major fire burning in Didsbury as we passed.

Coming from a country, where very few people still smoke, amazing how many from other countries do and how they are catered to. Our "Eco"resort had smoking areas just about everywhere on the site. Not smart where so many combustibles are . Resort says it was an electrical problem.
