My northern Alberta timberwolf
That was an awesome video. Congrats on your wolf. Nice when all the hard work pays off. Thanks for sharing that. You did a great pat job. How long did it take before they started hitting your bait?

i was using my 22-250 with a 55 grain hornady vmax, on the walk into my blind i broke my camera tripod. The knob that allows it to tilt up and down so if my camera wasnt sitting level on the tripod the weight of my camera would make it swing down facing my feet... and when the wolf was coming in i had one hand on my camera preventing the camera from falling and the other on my gun. I wanted to shoot him when he was 40 yards behind my bait but he was staring at me and having the tripod issues i didnt want to chance it. Then he finally knew something was up and started to leave. Ended up shooting him just under 330 yards

The dates on the trail cam pictures in the video are wrong but i started baiting first week of December an the first wolves showed up about 2 weeks after. My other bait i had going was hit the day after i baited.

Thanks for sharing. Is that the only wolf that was hitting this bait with any regularity?

He saw movement in the blind IMO. Breaking the tripod sucked. Good you got him.
The 55gr VMAX is what I use in the 22-250 for coyotes. Would you use a different load again, or do you think that is load is great?
If you had an auger, why did you use the chainsaw to set the post?

Thanks for sharing. Good video, i like the flow of the story and the background music. Glad there is no super duper scenes to make it "epic". Great effort on your part.

i brought the auger for making the holes around the bait, it makes a hole a lot quicker than the chainsaw and i wasn't sure how thick the ice was at the time, also my 8x8 post wouldn't fit down my auger hole. And the vmax load has always worked for me i was surprised how he got up and ran way to be honest, the angle wasn't the greatest when i shot him.
