Default Sheep River?

Hey, all,

Wondering, before heading down, how the Sheep has been fishing since the flood? Not looking for your honey hole, necessarily -- just wondering what conditions are like, in general.

Hmmm...that's mildly disappointing. Thanks, Winch.

I was there yesterday. It was awfully slow...but probably mainly because of the weather.

Have been twice with little success likely due to the murky waters. Saw two whitefish with crutches though ... that was a bad flood!

Alacringa, the Highwood is brown in spots but the fish are there. I don't expect clear water in the volume that's flowing right now but the fish are there. Here's one from today.

Default Thanks a TON!

Really appreciate everyone suggesting letting the Sheep wait. Because of that advice, I went North today, and pulled my personal best Brown (19") out of the Little Red Deer, on a size 14 Royal Wulff!

Both nice fish.
I've been itching to get on the sheep, been waiting a little.
It's interesting walking the river, some of the changes are amazing.
Cheers

Sheep still looks awful and is running fast. I found the Highwood near Longview a little better, but awfully fast and high. I managed two rainbows on Saturday morning.

Fished the sheep today and it is not as bad as the reports sound to me. Didn't catch anything but saw some rises and had a couple strikes on dries today, didn't land anything though. This was right in Okotoks. Sure the water isn't super clear like it usually is but there is about 2 or 3 feet of visibility and the fish are there and looking up. First time I've actually fished the river so I don't have anything to compare to but it wasn't a bad couple hours for me
