Default bear bait mix

hey I have not baited bears befor so i got a 55 gallon drum and i baked up 14 dozen muffins with a lot of vanilla and cinnamon in them. Then got a bunch of old bread and bagels some rolled oats and feed mollasses. and also threw in a couple bags of marshmallows and mixed it all up in the barrel. Would this mix work fine? I have my site picked out and will be dropping off the bait on friday and setting up a camera. I know its a little late in the season to just start baiting but i have been working. What would get the bears in fairly quick? and what would you guys change if anything ? any info is greatly appreciated

After that they may want a double double as well.

Bears will eat almost anything. I would get some meat scraps and beavers if you get them. Once the bears find your bait it won't take long for them to clean out your barrel. You may want to go with oats as it will be cheaper and less work then making muffins.

Good luck.

See somebody digging in your bait barrel, it'll be me, looking for those muffins.

Hi Damien

Get a stink bait up.....beaver or some meat scraps in a bag off the ground so the scent can spread the good news and not let the bears get the stinker. Rolled oats you can get at UFA or Peavey Mart with molases or chicken grease is great bait. Some grease on the ground will help spread the news when the bears wander back and forth through the bush.....good luck...Marco
