Default SPFGA open now?

Received an email mentioned that, from last Monday, SPFGA has been partial open, we are allowed to shoot there under supervised. Can't wait to have fun.

Anyone has been there recently? share your thoughts

Don’t forget to read up the post Covid rules, you need to wear a mask at all times except on the firing line and you must use hand sanitizer.

What about the archery range? The volume of shots and arrow retrieval would have you touching your mask and face dozens of time in a session. This is contrary to how health authorities recommend using a mask. You are outside and physically distanced. Should be enough?

Why are they requiring people to wear masks? Is that rule in place because of government requires it?

According to this masks are mandatory on the archery range https://www.spfga.ca/wp-content/uplo...Mitigation.pdf

That is disappointing. Will interfere with anchor point. Main reason I went to face paint for hunting. Not about to remove mask and put back on 20 times in the same practice set. That is totally backwards from the recommendation to not touch your face while wearing a mask. Once it is on it's supposed to stay there. Remove or adjust it as little as possible.
The province is not mandating masks outdoors. If people respect 2m social distance this makes no sense. County of Strathcona must have a real strict health officer. I guess you gotta do what they say.

Default SPFGA open now?

This will all take some getting used to and I expect this to change another 10 or so times before it gets maybe a little more practical.

The range is open, the road is not entirely caved in. It’s a happier time than 2 weeks ago.

Just spent a great afternoon at the range... felt so good.
Not too busy, a few shooters on each range.
For those wondering, the ‘every second bench’ does not apply to members of the same household (confirmed this with the vice-president of SPFGA.

Apparently we cannot yet open our indoor range because it is in the club house, that is only for stand alone indoor ranges , dang!
Oh well, it's nice out anyway!

Hopefully they drop the mask requirement Friday when the province goes to stage two. I see no point in wearing masks at this point, when even gyms are going to open.
