Not to mention their blatant preference for branding pacific rim products, or using brands that also import. I've complained to them before about this, you will find more Canadian made products in Cabellas than you will in MEC. They have more or less become the Wall Mart of outdoors stores, selling more in-house branded Chinese crap than anything else.

My kids wanted to go in as we walked by a few weeks ago.
I explained they were anti hunting, tree hugging granolas that would do anything to stop hunting and kept walking. I think my son wanted to tip over their kayak/canoe display... Made me proud. 😊

MEC is a great store . Anti-hunting? I don't think so.

Why don't you show me where they state that they are anti hunting.

They do not explicitly state that anywhere.
BUT, they do however directly support initiatives from groups that are explicitly campaigning against hunting, in addition to whatever it was they sold to MEC as a funding initiative. It's therefore quite a logical leap to brand MEC as ideologically "anti-hunting" as an organization itself.

A few For Instances for you...

Funded a David Suzuki publication designed to challenge the grizzly bear hunt in BC (notably anti-hunting):

http://www.davidsuzuki.org/publicati...zzly-bears.pdf

Publicly noted supporter of the anti organization Raincoast Foundation (directly involved in shutting down BC's grizzly hunt, and now campaigning against black bear hunting with stated intent to go after all "trophy status" hunts - sheep etc):

https://www.raincoast.org/sponsors/

Publicly noted supporter of the anti organization Pacific Wild (Directly funding their actions in the so-called "Great Bear Rain Forest" and efforts to stop hunting within it's confines & elsewhere):

https://pacificwild.org/about/partne...and-supporters

There is more. Much more if you want to dig into the matter.
But methinks that should suffice for most to get the gist.

When you sleep with swine...

Costco sell Merino Wool base layers that are pretty affordable ($25-$30 per item as I recall) and very comfortable. Paradox brand. In my experience, better quality than Icebreaker for far less $$ (I've used both).

Most of the "merino" stuff I've seen at Costco is like 80%-85% poly and only 10%-15% wool. That just isn't wool and it doesn't perform like wool. Certainly better than cotton, but definitely not real wool.

I was excited to see the display at Costco after reading all the great reviews and couldn't believe the low wool content. Maybe there is another offering from another supplier with some wool yet to come but the ones I saw were a joke.

I did pick up some socks with a decent percentage of Merino Wool and they seem like a good quality product. They were cheap so I will save my good heavy Merino socks until it is really cold.

Apparently the ATA office in Westlock began selling 100 % wool pants by name of Big Bill made in Quebec.
