Default Fly fishing

Didnt mean to stir the pot, but as long as its boiling--At renews pond southern avalon huge schools of salmon would swim off shore out of casting range, couldnt wade, or cast because of trees.
neccessity the mother of invention---The regular bobber flys didnt work.
Ok put a closed face spin reel on your fly rod with butt extension, weighted bobber on the end about 7 ft up a large bug type fly, floation treated ---Now bounce it along the surface, the salmon would hard rise, and follow, every now and then you would hook one, now you got a fight on your hands.

Sounds like fun. Would love to introduce my kid to that. Get that big fly out there and watch her face. She loves watching the fish following. She can't keep track of her hook without that bobber. Yet to get tall enough to see anything but the waters reflection.
