Which of these quads ?
Want a machine bigger than my 400.
Which would you guys say is better, same ball-park price, $6 - $7K.
2007 Polaris sportsman X2 800 EFI
or 2006 Kawasaki Brute Force 650 4x4.
Thanks,
TBark

Polaris, my neighbor just bought a new one and loves it, he's been riding Polaris's for10 years and loves them. I've got a 2008 Sportsman and I've been quite happy with it so far other than it's been eating batteries.....

Personal preference is a Honda 420 EFI with electric shift or auto. Unfortunately I bought mine before they were available with power steering. It is light, nimble, and side by side with any Polaris, Honda 500 Trail, Suzuki, or for that matter any other, I am not the one chewing on the dust!!! Through muskeg, I may be the last one in, but am the first one out, usually stopping to assist the others. Easy on fuel, starts on the first kick(even at -20). With Bear Claw tires all around, you have a machine that will virtually go anywhere, and is for the most part indestructible!!!

You can't beat the Polaris when it comes to riding comfort and real four wheel drive. Way more comfortable than the Honda 420 ( which is a really good machine too )

Everybody has there favorite. You might want to go to hunt fest and test out some there and find out what you like the best. If you go on atv http://forums.atvconnection.com/ you can find out the problems that people had with different models, all atv's have break downs, some more that others.
Good Luck..
Oh go grizzly..

X2
Love my Grizz, but the Brute Force is no slouch either. If not for the Grizzly, The next choice for me would have been the Brute Force.
PS, What is a Polaris? It's the way in of course.
The way out is on the end of a tow rope!

I just got done putting over 400 kms on a Honda 420 trail edition over the past 3 days. Electric/auto shift, independent front and rear suspention and power steering. It was a nice ride. I also like that they are light enough that if you get stuck, it is fairly easy to lift. The bumpers are low enough so that you can lift it higher.
I've seen way too many Polaris' sitting along the road over heating or on fire.

If that are your only options I would take the brute force. My buddy has a polaris and it is junk; my other buddy has the brute force and it seems to be the better of the two. Right now I have the 650 Can-Am; but if I was to get another I would get a Honda again.

i'd go with the polaris for sure. most of my buddies used to own hondas but have all gone over to the polaris. like any other thing its all about personal preferance tho as you can see. ive got a 2005 polaris and i wouldnt think about getting any other brand.

Yup get a kick out of these posts saying Polaris are junk. Just like Savage is junk. I have 4 quads all different makes. I cannot say one is junk over the other. Depends what your needs are. I have Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Polaris. Each has their advantages and disadvantages. Take it from there. hehehe
Yup don't worry I have yanked all makes of quads out with my Polaris.

I run a Yamaha Grizzly 700 and love it. The Brute force was my second choice but i still almost bought it. The only way you would see me driving a Polaris is if i lost a Bet !!
My son is also a Motorcycle mechanic. If it wasnt for Arctic cat and Polaris he may not be as busy fixing them.
Go with the Brute Force in my opinion.
