anything with a good hollow point , we use winchester HV or american eagle as they are more accurate in our guns than stingers or yellow jackets

Find the hollow point that is the most accurate and reliable in your rifle. What is 'best' in one persons rifle might shoot like crap in another's.

Get a box of everything you would like to try and take them all to the range. Your 22 will tell you which one it likes.

CCI 0064 Quick Shok's

Same Velocity as the Stinger but the size is a true .22 IIRC the Stinger is 0.11" taller than a standard .22 and does not chamber properly in quite a few guns.

That being the case, I have been shooting a lot of silhouette with American Eagle .40gr solids, and that will most likely be my gopher round this year.

Just finished chronoing the AE, and it is extremely consistant in terms of velocity and groupings.

Personally I like Stingers, but if I shot more often, I'd probably just use a regular high velocity HP.

Default 22 loads

Personally I shoot the 40g Winchester Power Point. As stated above it makes a good smack. But it also is the same grain weight as the 40g American Eagle cheapo target ammo. I noticed a .75inch climb with my 10/22 when I dropped to 38g. This way I can plink for cheap and smack gophers well without touching my sights.

Anything Winchester come out of my 795 really nicely, any of them. Tried the cheap all lead ones, and they where in a 3 inch circle at 100 yards. I find anytime ive smacked a gopher with any Winchester ammo(not past 50 yards with the 22) ive used the result are devastating. That said, my 17hmr really opens them up out to 150 yards, like big exit hole, bigger than anything with a 22.

There is no question that the 17 rimfires are far superior to the 22lr, as far as range and accuracy is concerned. The 17mach2 ammunition is more affordable at around $7 per 50 compared to around $13 per 50 for the 17HMR, but both are much costlier than the cheaper 22lr loads. However, the 17mach2 loads aren't much more than the Stinger loads for the 22lr.
I no longer use a 22lr of any kind for gopher shooting.

Also depending on where you are shooting the .17hmr bullet construction is less likely to richocet, so they are a bit safer to shoot as well.
