Such odd music that I have to share it but write a comment...
This album, Spirituallty & Distoration, by Igorrr was released a couple weeks ago.
It's definitely not for the folks who like country or 'tame' middle of the road music. It is unique enough that several age groups of listeners might be entertained. An interesting blend of instruments, sound structures and singing that you can't really define into any one musical category or genre.
A blend of black metal, french baroque, orchestral, breakcore, trip hop, raw and operatic vocals, techno and other oddities. Good musicians and singers in their own right.
The french composer Gautier Serre, whose stage name is Igorrr has a brilliant way of composing to really tickle the eardrums. Some tunes are hard to digest and some slip right into the ear. Could be good ear fodder for long drives to stay awake. Could become an acquired taste for white noise in the background. This type of music may appeal to people who study or make music just for the complexity and effort Gautier puts into his compositions.
The drummer is quite able and the female vocalist can be operatic or raw. One male vocalist does some in tune screaming in a couple of the tunes and has real raw emotion in his voice. The bass and guitar players are spot on. Excellent accordian player too. Only the tune 'Parpaing' on the album has vocals that are real dark screamo.
Definitely not your typical group of musicians. Here's the complete new album or a few of the the tunes from the album.
