Default Dewey bore guides?

are Dewey bore guides a good investment? Will they work with cleaning rods other than Dewey?

I understand they use a double O-ring...system...instead of some coned tip...is that a better system? Just exactly how does it work .. As in what's going on in the chamber? Sorry if its a dumb question.......

I like mine, all I have is Dewey rods so I can't comment on compatibility with other brands although I can't see how there would be a conflict. The O-rings make for a snuggish fit and the brass "Bolt handle" locates it in the stock's handle notch. There's a slot for dribbling in your cleaner juice, it kinda works, I just wet the patch first and push it thru instead.

I have the Dewey bore guides and cleaning rods, cannot compare them to other brands as this is all that I have used but I will say that I am happy with what I have. I have never had a problem with them leaking into the chamber. The ones that I have come with spare o-rings and an installation tool. Hope this helps.

To the best of my knowledge the Dewy guide will work with most other rods. I have used mine with a Remington cleaning kit before. That said the Dewy rods are far nicer to work with.
