Default Douglas barrel

I am thinking of buying a Sako .270 that is being listed as a custom gun with a Douglas Barrel. Does anyone know anything about these barrels. I'm looking at a pretty good price so I just wonder how custom this really is. I respect your opinion and tell me what you think good, better, or junk. Thanks alot all info would be helpfull.

From my own experiences with a couple of their barrels,Douglas is of decent quality, but not top end.

Douglas has been looking for his barrel for awhile now, he lost it, maybe you could send it back to him.

I've got three rifles with Douglas premiums on them. They shoot good, but not as good as my Ron Smith barrel.

Douglas barrels are button rifled, like Savage barrels.

I'd bet it was a fine shooting rifle that you're looking at. If it's bedded right.

I put a Douglas XX on my .223 a few years back, heard some good ,some bad reviews but for the price I don't think you can go wrong.Maybe I got lucky but mines a shooter, shoots under an inch at 300yrds off bags..

Melvin Forbes builds almost exclusively with Douglas.

Thanks for the info. I bought the rifle today. Found out more info on it. It is a .270 Sako bolt action with L61R. 24in Douglas barrel, flur-dis-lis checkering??? Trigger pull 1 1/2lb. Was built in the late 70's-80's area. Its in excellent condition. Owner was a looker not a hunter. I'm going to put a nice scope on her and hopefully bring her to Alberta to bag a big buck.
