Default Hunting Raffles

Just wondering if anyone on the AO board buys tickets on hunting raffles. There seems to be a ton of them out there. I remember a fellow on the board who had won a Dall Sheep hunt this past summer. I never did hear though how he made out.
Anyone else ever have win one of these hunts?
Is there any particular ones you support?

There are a number of raffles I buy tickets for - just depends on who & what the money is going towards. For some of the "dream hunt raffles" they are just that, and perhaps my best chance at ever going on some of the hunts.

Don't let Gunslinger buy any tickets! He wins too much stuff.

Just kidding Pat. BTW would you mind starting to buy 6/49 tickets for me?

Cheers!

To answer the post: I'll buy raffles to support the local clubs and the dream hunts too. Like Duk says, it might be the only way I'll be able to do one of those hunts.

That couldn't be any truer for a lot of people including myself.

I have always supported a few like the AFGA Dream Hunt and Ministers Sheep Permit. (hopefully this year I can get the chance to buy a few tickets)
This year I expanded by supporting numerous of the Sheep groups/clubs raffles.

I am also looking into the Arizona Super Raffle. First I just need to do some researching on what if a guy actually won, what would he need to do.

I've bought tickets for the AZ raffle before. You can check their website, but I do not believe there is any issue with Canadians buying tickets and winning.

At the website you can purchase tickets from it says, "Yes, non-residents may apply. This includes residents outside the United States, provided you pay in U.S. funds." So that isnt any problem.
So far I havent been able to find the guide requirement needed for a non residents on the Arizona Game & Fish website. I am almost 95% you need to hire a guide. But so far the only thing I found was non residents will need the correct paperwork from the FTA to bring a rifle into the country. Which isnt any news to anyone.

Here is the reply I got frm AZ.

Hello Dan.
There is no requirement for winning tagholders to hire a guide. If you are unfamiliar with hunting areas in Arizona, and don't have the time or resources to scout properly, hiring a guide might be something you'd want to consider if you were to win, but it is entirely up to the winner.
