Default Geese? February??

Just seen two flocks fly past while I sit here in Calgary in a parking lot.
Is this normal?
Seems early to me. And yes they were flying in a northerly direction

The geese are here year round. Lots of mallards, too.

At sundown, there are some impressive flights landing on the Bow.

Thx Big Sky. I never knew. I don't recall ever seeing them this time of year where I am in Morinville just north of Edmonton.

There are at least a hundred mallards at Rundle park now. Have seen 2 dozen geese 2 weeks ago south of Duffield on the river
