Bought a jug at trapper gords. To be honest I wasn't impressed with it. Basically is a cement sealer type mixture and wonder if cement sealer would work

Interesting....

I like the idea that you can dip traps without gas and hang them for 3 days and set them.

What didn't impress you? Other than it reminds you of cement sealer.

As it is, I don't dye my footholds. I boil them and leave themoutside for a couple days and set them. I have decent luck with them, but was going to try a different set up this year.

Did you try it on rusty traps? I have a bunch that are rusty.

used it on my wolf snares so I can hang them in the bush all year long instead of pick them up at the end of the season. I figured I would close the loops and keep them waterproofed till the next year this way. I think the stuff is way over priced and I honestly wonder if cement sealer would work. It looked identicle.

I always found getting my traps in the summer the best for me. It gives you something to do on a nice summer or spring day.
For my wolf traps I liked using Speed Dip. I mixed it with White gas. I boiled and then sprayed them with vinegar a couple times. That gives them a light coat of rust. It only takes a few hrs but I leave over night.
Then I dip them every few hrs all day long and hang in a tree. There is no gummy mess like some complain of and by fall you can't smell them. Plus it stays on real well.
I have used formula 1 for my lynx traps and it flakes off and rusts under the coating and peels off.
That's what I do.
