Question Descenting Traps

Just a thought. To descent our traps we usually boil them. Here's a thought. Why couldn't we just take a Tiger Torch to do the same to kill the scent causing bacteria? ( On low volume to not cook the steel).

Ordinarily when boiling traps, we mix in some of the local greenery, branches, leaves, etc. from the spruce, pine or whatever is handy. This will impart the scent you want and prob even cover scents picked up after the fact.
