Yes, I have one as do a couple of my buddies. We're of the same opinion, they hit like a sledge hammer. What questions have you got?

Ive owned several. Carried one for years guiding.

There is nothing in North America that I wouldnt take on with the 444.

The only thing to concern yourself with is the "Marlin jam".....Google it

Has been the camp back up gun for 30 years. Does a fine job.

Use the Hornady 265 IL. Good to go.

Default cast bullet rifle

I have a 444 and a 450 marlin. The 444 has a micro groove barrel,so if you shoot cast lead make sure you get a mould that will allow you to size to .432" I would like a later model 444 with the ballard rifleing.for hunting in BC or Manitoba whear I hunted it is great.the marlin is easy to pull the bolt for cleaning.

Default 444

Have used the 444XLR past 5 years and taken Moose every fall with it. Hard hitting and manageable recoil. Stopped a charging Bull this last fall, first hunt for my boy and he will never forget that one, lol. Within 100yds and using 265gr Hornady it will drop any animal. For bush hunting its the way to go!
