From what I've been hearing in talking to people and reading reports, it seems the more southern area's are more or less normal, while farther north there are far less than there was 4-5 years ago. I used to spend an afternoon shooting them with a bow and could often stand in one spot and empty my quiver almost without pause, and then pretty much shoot as soon as I had recovered and arrow. Mind you this was a truly exceptional spot, maybe the best I've ever seen, but I had multiple area's where you could run through a brick of .22 in one session. Those same area's now you might get a half dozen shots in an afternoon. All in all I'm happy for the farmers, its one less headache and expense for them, but I sure do miss it. I learned to shoot a recurve bow out there, and it was a blast.
