Under the Bio proposed scoring system the person with most years of trapping, most equipment, most courses will beat out any son or Junior Partner on the line every time.

Big Grey I talked a bit about this with my Bio. He said it will not exactly be like this as they want to make sure lines are distributed evenly. Problem is that is his point of view and leaves it open to interpretation.
I asked what my chances of owning 2 lines are and he again said he would like to make sure lines are distributed so others without lines can have first dibs if I understood him correctly and I think I did.
This upsets me becuase I would love to run 2 lines when I am retired or opportunity arises and basically will be doing that this winter on my own line and Jr on another.
When Tork gets back from the bush in BC I hope he tells you what just happened with him trying to buy another line last week and what went on. It is utterly mind blowing and is very frustrating to here what happened. Not my story to share but it again solidifies where the future is with the RMFA and it isn't very rosie....

Nube, your too ambitious, your 7 townships is lots of territory to trap if ANC etc would leave some trees for you. Gene Walters from Sunset house use to trap 10 townships by keep buying neighbour lines. His line has now been divided into 3 or 4 lines.

209 your idea of having your line passed to your son in your 'Will' is quite powerful in a legal sense. A Court Judge considers a 'Will' much more important document than some Bio,s drafted policy.

On this will part, last fall when i bought my licence, i signed a document on what should happen to my rfma if i suddenly passed away.
It was a gov paper that i signed in front of a F&W officer.
Might hold alot of weight in this situation.

I was told they had to many issues with rfma's from deceased holders and family wanting to sell, so the office want the document filled out.

So in effect you were leaving instructions for the GOA to follow in regards to succession/disposal of your line?

It was basicly a will, if the line should go to my wife or children. If you guys never seen one it might have been only my local branch.
In signing the paper, it willed the line to a certain person, instead of going back into the system as an avaliable rfma.

That was a year ago, before all this.

I recently purchased a line and this opportunity was never afforded to me. Perhaps that could be addressed at the AGM. It seems every District has a different approach to this issue.
