Default Underwater camera scare whites away?

Just bought the Marcum underwater viewing system. Impressed with the weight and shape of the video camera. Such a big and heavy one! Does anyone have a good experience if the video camera scare white fish away? How far do you set your camera away from your hook if fishing in a water clarity like the one in gull lake?

We have been using a Marcum camera for 3 years now. I would not have believed all the weird fish behaviour i have seen that has changed how I might fish that day, Sometimes it even results in more catching and less fishing
The whites at Wabamun and Lac St Ann don't seem to mid the camera but they are also the more skidish than there counter parts in the lake. I never like to fish with out the camera. Enjoy the show

I use this:

Reel Weeds

Fish hardly look twice. And I believe it helps when I am perch fishing.

You can also just go into your local Aquarium supply store and pick up plastic plants there.

I did last night after seeing this post! went to petsmart and bought 5 feet of double fern weeds for 11 bucks. zip tied it to my cable that leads to the camera and my camera has dread locks!
looks awesome. gonna try it this weekend. i actually stopped using mine this winter because the walleye really have been spooking from it. same last year for big perch in Sask. and whites always!
so gonna try this new "weed" this weekend!

for the record, i don't actually use " weed"

We found the Whitefish to be skittish if the lights on the camera were on.

Here it is with the plastic weeds attached. Less spooking.

Any success in Pigeon? I was told there are just few whites left in pigeon and I don't see anyone catch them.

The whites at wabamun never seem to mind the camera. Sometimes they circle around for a half an hour before not biting my hook lol

Ya know it didn't bother the perch but the fishing sucked. With or without the cam
Or the flasher

Crazy changing weather patterns and horrible wind had me locked up
