I am the the guy that shot the first tom. The first shot on the tom was with my bow. The arrow hit a branch and struck the lion one inch too far forward with little penitration. We treed the lion the second time and I could not get a clear line of sight as he treed in a pine tree. I am a person that will not take six shots at an animal just to say it was bow kill so I decided to use a rifle to put the odds in my favor. There was no deflection with the bullet and the Lion was dispatched immediately.

Congrats. on your cat. Did you use the services of an outfitter or do you have dogs? Could you post a picture?
Four years is a long time to wait but you were rewarded with a good tom.

Does anyone know why I don't get a picture of the "cat" in Herd Master's original post? All I get is a box with an X in it. It must be something to do with my computer settings. Any ideas??
