Default The perfect sheep rifle?

Whats the perfect sheep rifle? It needs to be light weight ,flat shooting, stand up to bad weather, get banged around the rocks. I have used a Rem 700 mtn 280 Ackley ,2x7x32 scope ,nylon sling for years, she's starting to look a litlle rundown. Just picked up a Win super shadow 270wsm to chase rams with. What do you guys use?

I'd have to agree as I picked up the same thing only in 300wsm.

I think we saw this exact thread no more than a few weeks ago. Sheep Hunter said it all when (I believe) he said if its light enough for you to carry up and down the hills and you can shoot it well, its a good sheep rifle.

I was just at wholesale, fondling a Ruger compact. I want one -- 5.5 pounds, quick pointing -- they didn't have one in .260 Rem, which would be my pick for sheep, but they said Calgary does and they could order it and I'm really tempted.

Right now I use a Savage in .270 WSM.

But I think the ideal would be a custom with about a 21" bbl in 25 WSSM that weighed in at around 4.5 lbs. Top it with a Leupold light weight -- yeah baby.
