Two aftermarket wood stocks for Win Mod 70 Pre 64 Featherweight
I have a couple of wooden stocks for sale that are inlet for a Pre 64 Featherweight .
One is a Boyd's stock that I picked up a few years ago from a member that had it on his .270, but the barrel channel is a hair snug for my .30-06. It has a rubber butt plate and sling swivel studs.
The second is a stock that had been sitting around my dad's place for about 45 years that had been semi-inlet, but also cut down to about a 12" LOP. I sanded it down and rubbed a few coats of tung oil into it about 10 years ago. It's a beautiful looking piece of wood, with a large cheek piece, teardrop grip and a palm swell and would be a pretty easy project for someone with woodworking skills.
They don't have relief for the midpoint bulge or a hole for the stock screw of a standard rifle, however both of these stocks have quite a bit beefier profile than the original Featherweight design. So there is the potential to remove quite a bit of material to get them to where you might want them and maybe do some checkering as well. Or fit them as is.
I'd like $200 for the pair picked up in Edmonton as they're surplus to my needs.
