Default Cabelas VAcuum Sealer

Is anyone using the "Cabelas Commercial Grade Vacuum Sealer"?

My FoodSaver one crapped out a few months ago so I got this one from Cabelas.

In most ways it acts the same as my old one but it does not seem to vacuum as seriously as the FoodSaver did.

What I mean is that both of them vacuum solid items the same but when it comes to softer stuff like chicken breasts, they don't get rock hard like they used to in the FoodSaver. Now if I want that I have to partially freeze the breasts before I vacuum them.

Is this normal?

Your experiences please.

Hey there,

I have had my Cabelas Commercial sealer for 4 years now. Works great and I am just going to change out the original heating strip this year. I see a 1/4" spot that isn't sealing perfect after last season, likely could get away with it by adding a second single seal line but I have two spare heat strip kits.

Was able to time my purchase when they had a decent sale price as well!

Hope that helps.

Default Vacuum machines

I am on my third FoodSaver and the first one years ago was very good. The second not so good. The newest one although not as good as the first one does all I want it to do. I buy meat in bulk nd then vacuum pack it.
