Default Jeep Gladiator

Hmmmm might have to check one out once they start rolling off the assembly line....maybe a future purchase.
My thought is its not too big but yet very capeable for all seasons of outdoor recreation.....watched a show on them and they look impressive except the price tag but that goes for many vehicles today.

Thoughts on this ride?

Judging by how RavYak packs his ride he might want to look at one of these.

I think those of you how have issued with the price of the Ranger are going to be shocked at the base MSRP of this unit. Just a guess, but I see it starting around $42k to $44k.

I'm also not a huge fan of the proportions based on the pictures I've seen, it looks really, really long, but the box is really short. Guess I'll have to reserve styling judgement till I see one in person.

It’s another expensive option, but the availability of a diesel in it is a good thing. I understand that won’t be available immediately though,

Even when it rolls off the assembly line and gets to our local dealer I will get eyes on but wait a year to see what or if it has issues.

A lot of times it takes a few years to remedy any issues if there are any.

They will be pricey. I think the rubicon model as pictured will be around the $70,000 mark given the JLU Rubicons are MSRP at around 60-65.

Personally don’t like how long it looks, kind of out of purportion IMO. Guess I’m just use to our JKU and how long it is.

WB is 19.4 in longer than the Wrangler Unlimited. Same 3.6 gas engine. Optional 3.0 diesel. You don't by a Jeep for good gas mileage. I've owned two JKU's (Sahara)......still have one. I wouldn't buy the gasser if you are going to tow anything..……...diesel yes, gas no.

Don't buy the first model year!
I'd trade the giant cab for a bigger box on that thing, but I like it. I like the AEV Jeep Brutes better, but they're wayyyy too expensive.

Interesting. As an adult, it's conjuring up the same emotional appeal as the first time I saw a Tonka Truck when I was a 5 year old boy

Here's a good video overview from Kelly Blue Book

Jeep is definitely trying to cram in a lot of utility with this truck. So much so that I would definitely wait a couple years to see how the various bells and whistles hold up. I wonder if it can incorporate third party box top canopies. That would definitely be a plus and extend its functionality.

I have the new JL Rubicon, essentially the regular Wrangler version of what is pictured.

It's an awesome vehicle, no issues at all despite being a first model year. FCA has really upped the ante with these.

That being said.. I think I'd go tried and tested full-size pickup before one of these. I still kept my F150 when I bought the JL.

My first vehicle was a 1966 Gladiator , 258 cid with a three speed std.

Loved that truck.

I’ve had 3 jeeps. An 04 tj, an 08 jk 2 door, and my wife had a 2011 4 door. I miss them, so much fun in those. But life has dictated I need something with more room and I was pretty happy to oblige Though in a few years when I’m able to have some time for a rec vehicle again, I told my wife I wanted another Jeep.
This rig may be a contender, I’d check one out.
