93R17-BTVS: Brown laminated vented thumbhole stock / Stainless bolt action / Heavy varmint S/S barrel / Vented thumbhole.
For some reason to get the price and picture of the rifle you have to click on the Real Tree Hardwood in the "Finish" box.

Oh yeah, it's deadly accurate out to about 150 yards and if the wind ever stops blowing I'm going to start going for some 200 to 300 yard shots. I think that I have the AO and the BDC figured out on the sweet 17 now.
The CCI 17 gr polymer tip rounds work great and I haven't had to try anything else.

Marlin with a 4-12x40 vortex scope. Just bought a Ruger 77/17 heavy stainless 24", grey laminate stock with 3.5-10x50mm Vortex Viper scope.Havent even sighted her in yet. 7days off coming up and will do it then and then off gopher sniping. Currently using Hornady 17 grain and will also try some hollowpoints.

Thompson Center ProHunter and I shoot Hornady ammo, both 17 and 20 grain. I've got a ballistic reticle scope that is dead on to 200 yards.

can you shoot the 17 and 20 grain ammo interchangeably without it affecting accuracy, just curious?

Savage Mako with Tasco scope, think it's a 6-24x42 varmint with mil-dot reticle. Thinking of getting a BSA sweet 17 for it.

I have the sweet 17 on mine and I like it allot. I never looked through a Tasco but it sounds like you already have a great scope though.

I have the same Savage with the BSA 17 scope , the cartridge outperforms the scope in my opinion. Next time around I will opt for better optics.

I just picked up a Marlin 917VS. Came with a bushnell 3-9 on it, I'm quite impressed with it, shooting hornady 17gr., these seem to leave lots of debris in the barrel not sure if other shells would be any better or not. really good out to 150, been pretty windy out here lately, want to see how it is at 200 plus.

I finally shot my t-bolt heavy barrel today, and I am impressed. Bullets are expensive, but it sure is a quick little beast.

I got me a Savage 93R17 BVSS(pepper lam/SS)..I was really hoping for a thumbhole in this same color, but not yet!!. ..nutmeg only.. .On my best day with nary a breeze....23 out of 25 in a 1" Shoot n see patch at 100 yds. ...got a Bushnell 3-9x32 on top. Mine shoots the 17gr CCI's flawlessly.....I got a deal on a couple of bricks of Hornady 20 grainers......pleasant surprise...it loves them too!!.....Just started my 11 yr old daughter shootin last year with it...she LOVES it!!.. .had her back to the range 2 weeks ago....with her spinnin gopher...hehehe man, she slayed it!! She tried 3 shots at a target 100 yds out(fr bags only).....3/4 of an inch group!!. ..smashing skeets at 100 yds in the dirt berm.. ...What a great round for kids to learn with!!

By no means are the optics in the sweet 17 comparable to some of the higher priced scopes but I think that the features make up for it. It took me awhile to get used to the AO and BDC but once that I figured out to focus the AO, glance to see what yardage it was indicating and adjusting my BDC accordingly, it made taking longer shots a little easier. I haven't had any problems with the sighting not staying true either. The optics are good enough to pick out gophers in the grass at 200 yds but the view might not be as sharp as a Leopold for example. For shooting gophers or just plinking the sweet 17's optics are good but the features are great and do what they are designed to do. Maybe I just got lucky by getting one that was made well.

I'm using a Savage Mako 93/17 Stainless with a straight 10X40 Bushnell 3200 with mil dot seems to work great with both 17 and 20gr Hornady ammo. Gonna shoot some golf balls at 100 yrds soon, ground hogs are getting harder to find around here. I consider it a par 2 on a calm day with a 17 Iron!
