Duck decoy weights
Getting a full decoy set made up, just curious what weights most guys use. Is 3 oz enough, or go with the 6 oz?
TIA

How deep and how windy?
3 oz will move in a heavy wind with a deep set. Once it lifts off bottom the decoy is gone to deep water.

Well, hopefully not more than 5 ft of water, and the usual wind. If I'm using a longer line, just lets them move more? ie-5 ft line in 3 ft of water

These work really well for me, I can't see much point in using anything else.

I would recommend getting Texas Rigs, not sure if thats already what you had in mind or not.

They are exactly what I would like, just having trouble finding the right set up.
Nothing but bad reviews for these, but is what I'm looking for

Me too, the way to go for shallower sloughs or ponds.

I've used a 1/2" X 8" strip of plumbing lead.
Wrap the string up and wrap the lead around the decoy head to prevent tangling when in the bag.
Never had the decoys move in hang winds.
