Hey guys. I ordered my son a custom knife that is going to have some personalized touches, and I would like to have something made for my daughter, likely a wooden jewelry box. I’m thinking something simple, a bowl shape with a lid, all carved out of a block of wood.

Any woodworkers on here that turn wood?

You may want to look at some of the offerings from the Potters Guild in Stony Plain. They turn out some dynamite stuff. I’m sure you could find a willing member for true custom work.

Can't recall if you're in Oiler or Flame country but SAWS (Southern Alberta Woodworkers) has amateurs and pros who take on small commissions.
