Default Looking for info on ice fishing Lake Newell

Never fished Newell before and was hoping someone could point me to a good spot for big pike. From Lethbridge so I will probably only make it out there once or twice. Just trying to maximize fish time. Thanks.

I don't have specifics myself, but several friends find the south end very productive. I'm sure others here will chime in, and if I can get more precise info, I'll post.

If not at least provide GPS coordinates for your hot areas

KYLE!!!! That would be great!!!! That was my next question...could I maybe meet someone there and get them to pop a couple holes for me, as I only have a hand auger and it has really dull blades. Also, what are tip ups??? Could you post a pic of what that set up is?

Cheers!!

I get a kick our of the responses. At least you seem to have a sense of humour.

I'm from the Edmonton area, I've never fished Newell either. The last thing I know I would do is ask for a spot on a forum. Take a little pride in doing your own reading and then actual fishing to find it. Nothing should come easy or you'll never appreciate it. Just my .2 cents

Just look where the shacks are sitting.
That’s usually a good place to start on an unknown lake.

South end typically produces more quality fish. Big bait, and heavy tackle 👌

Use caution on the south end of Newell as there are at least three places where I have seen vehicles go through.Follow the crowd.
