Default Gunsmith NAIT

Anybody reading this take or know anybody that went through these courses they offer at NAIT. Looking into it. I am unsure how qualified a person would be after this particular course. Can’t seem to find specific answers on the best path into this business.

Any info appreciated.

I have a young friend who is finishing his grade 12 this year and will be heading to NAIT in the fall to take the gunsmithing course. He has been up to meet the instructor and check out the program and is super excited that it is being offered. I am really looking forward to hear his reports as the class progresses. D.H.

A person taking this coarse will be better qualified to be called a gunsmith than most people that call them selves gunsmiths.'
Most gunsmiths have taken a online gunsmith coarse.
Some gunsmiths did it the old way and it was a apprenticeship, like in europe.
This took years and their work shows it.(also the price)
They cost money but the work is amazing.
I have paid so called gunsmiths piles of money for custom rifles, that the workmanship showed that they learned as they went and got there certificate in the mail from a internet course.
So qualified has different meanings to different people.

If i could do it all over i would have taken a course such as the one above. Even if just to re barrel M700's for personal use.

My old boss is there taking it now. I beleive he is also taking machinist courses on the side. He went into the course with 30+ years of military weapons technician experience on his back.
