The conclusion of the 2009 American Legend May sale saw Black females being sold to a strong participation of buyers, with Korea dominating on better qualities and Hong Kong/China buying heavily amongst larger sizes.

Hong Kong/China also played a large role as Mahogany females were sold at advancing prices, while Ranch Wild's sold firm to March 2009 levels.

Overall, female prices were consistent with ALC’s previous auction this year, holding firm to March 2009 levels.

Top Lots:
The top lot of Blackglama females was purchased by Mechutan Corp. for Tsoukas Bros. of Kastoria, Greece, and was produced by Buhl-Frye of Crystal Lake, Illinois.

The top lot of American Legend Mahogany females was purchased by Ottino International Ltd. for Suning Li Feng Fur & Leather Co. Ltd. of China and was produced by The Becksteads of Lehi, Utah.

The top lot of American Legend Dark Brown females was purchased by Klondike Intl. for Custom Furs of St. Louis, Illinois, and was produced by Dogwood Fur Farms of Aldergrove, British Columbia.

The collection of international mink sold at firm to slightly rising prices, achieving 100% clearances in all color phases.
Overall, the 2009 American Legend May Sale was a great success, with 100% of North American goods being sold at rising price levels.

A strong buying community was once again on-hand, as over 250 buyers from all markets packed the American Legend auction room.
