There is a map of where the most elk problems are and where the landowners wanted a hunt, so yes an area where they wanted targeted. Not much was said by SRD but during the hunt we found out your tag was good for the whole WMU.

They should be still giving out tags, there were 120 drawn but no way that many guys bought tags. Lots just wanted the map of landowners who were letting people out, or gave up when they found out access was not a guarantee or easy.

i had one down at 2:00 opening day. there is no reason why more tags arent filled. i showed up sunday the 3rd unprepared, after knocking on a mear 4 doors i had permission on over 3000 acres. on opening day i seen over 500 elk on places i had no permission. a rancher actually stopped me and asked if i had a tag and when i replyed ya he led me to a herd. the elk there are so tame that when i shot my elk the others just stood there, probobly coulda shot 10.
