Too bad they dont have the agm at the conventions anymore thats when the majority of the trappers take the time to travel. Most of us have to travel a long ways and i make a point of going to all the conventions but I havent had a vote since they decided to have it seperate at sundry. Iam not the only one, allot of people feel the same way.

I agree. I think when everyone is gathered together it would also be the time to hold the annual meeting. More apt to get a better feel of the membership as a whole, and therefore more votes mean a democracy based on a larger cross section of trappers.

I also liked it better when the AGM and the convention were held at the same time. I can understand why it was separated. To keep the convention fun & upbeat and politics aside. I think it could get busy doing both for the board. In any case I'll be in westlock tomorrow. Maybe see some of you there.

I am a director for the south country trappers and have talked to allot to the members about the AGM. The closest trapper has a 4hro of travel and allot of us it is 6 hours + of driving for a 9 in the morning at westlock. I talked to two of the ATA directors in stetler and to gordy himself and was pleased to know things are going to stay pretty much the same. Thanks to all the people who are looking after our trapping industry. I myself and my family are in full support of the DOA and if anyone who wants to keep trapping in the future should really think about it. I have talked to and are friends with allot of F&w and they all say that it only a matter of time that trapping will be a thing of the past and most of them say that it was planed to be gone years ago.

I heard from a good source that the executive is the same. Not sure about the directors though. Also heard that the RCMP will be laying charges re the theft of the $200,000.
