Default Wessex Game Birds

Had a terrific day at Wessex with our year old Chesapeake. Bought ten roosters and took our time introducing a young dog to pheasant hunting. Rocked each bird and placed one at a time in various parts of field and hedges. Took him across wind until he scented downwind of bird and followed scent right in to bird. He actually stood there like a pointer until shooter kicked up the bird. Managed to harvest 8 out of ten. "Murphy" worked great and even managed to hunt down 2 in the thick hedgerow. Very proud of him today!

Awesome to hear the pup is doing so well. Sounds like he will be a good one.

Yeah- pics or it didn’t happen!
Seriously though , getting a pup out to a game farm like Wessex or wwbirds place is always fun
