Default UWAY Camera Review (Cell Phone)

Thought I would write a review for these folks. At first I was annoyed. My sensor didn't pick up anything over 24'. I was able to exchange that camera right at the store I bought it from (Jimbows Archery Edm) instead of waiting for it to ship and get warranty work. That 2nd camera's sensor also stunk- 26' max range. I should say, aside from the sensor not working well, the cell phone part was really easy to set up with Telus and the camera performed better than expected. It always sent messages when the sensor would pick up motion. It was simply a couple faulty motion detectors. Long story short, Chase at UWAY took a lot of time to help me with the issues. Eventually they just got me to return this cam for the warranty work. They shipped it on their dime to Lethbridge and replaced the sensor in a very timely manner (2 weeks~). It now works awesome. The range has been very good and the cell service excellent. I would definitely buy another camera with confidence as the customer service was amazing and now so too is the camera. I am not associated with UWAY at all but I know the question comes up quite often about the cams performance. Hope it helps.
Here's a couple photos at night from the yard.

I have a MMS account with Telus. I pay around $22-40 per month depending on usage. I have the cam going steady on a pretty good quality setting.

I have mine on telus pay as you unlimited mms and it is 15/mo.
I also had bad luck with my first MB600 from WSS but after some trouble shooting with Chase I sent him my cam and he sent me back a brand new one in the box and it is working great and I am thinking about getting another now

Thought I would bump this thread.

Just bought one of these cams, haven't yet set up with Telus but thought I would see how you guys are liking your cameras now that you have used them for a year or more. Any helpful hints on setting up or using the camera?
How is the battery life in these cams? do you use lithium or normal batteries?

Thanks,

I've had my eye on one of these as well but after hearing about guys having sensor issues I decided to wait. Have they got that all sorted out now?

good question i have two and i never had issues with anything except programming the thing which can be frustrating but you only have to do it once. i heard one guy couldn't get it to take pictures unless it was really close and they just fixed it for him.

Thanks, this is good to know. So it's basically useless during deer season if that's true for all of them. With my luck I would get one that doesn't work cold.

Mine works just fine in the cold. Their customer service is second to none. You can text the service guy with questions anytime.
My cam had a really bad sensor. They warrantied it no problem at all. They threw a new sensor in it that now had fantastic range.
Highly recommend and will possibly buy another for bear season
