Default After Three Years....Finnally!

Left Edm. this very early AM and headed to Cold lake in search of Lake Trout. I've only been there once before when we were skunked ice fishing. It was a beautifull day on the water and though it was very slow (dead) for first couple hours, I finnally caught my first Lake Trout. It was below legal keep limit so a few quick pics. and back into the water.
As exciteing as that was, I was also very happy to break a three year losing streak on ice cream bets. Have to thank AO member -J-R whose boat we were fishing from for a great day. My first Laker, and the best tasting ice cream that I can remember eating!
Note.... You can still see a lot of smoke from the forest fire burning to the north of the lake.

Congrats on your (first?) laker!

I was out there last week and picked up a nice one trolling in 14 fow. It rekindled the laker itch for me so I went out and bought a couple Downriggers for my boat, I'm going to try trolling deep for them. They sure are a fun fish to catch.

Congrats on your first laker Ninja, always a great feeling to knock a species off of the bucket list!
