Default A bit long

He is a bit long winded but does have some valid ideas. I have tried a lot of slings and like most I am in search of the "perfect" sling.

- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

IMO there is no "perfect" sling. There is only a perfect sling for "this" style of hunting. I have pretty much perfected my "perfect sling" for
*Coyote calling
*still hunting/ tracking/ early season Elk calling ( with and without a pack)
* tree stand / saddle hunting
*trapping
*backcountry hunting

My general use sling is a 1907 pattern leather sling.

1907 IMO is the most perfect sling designed IF it is used for shooting as well as packing a rifle.
Most people I know that have them do not know how to set them up for shooting.

Only reason I decided on that particular sling is how good of a shooting aid it is. I have 5 or 6 of them. Unless a sling offers a benefit in alternative carrying capacity I look no farther than the 1907. All those fat cobra style slings just hang on the wall in my gun room.

I designed a webbing sling that gives all the shooting aid capabilities as well alternative carry methods.

For those who want to know... not the best video but better then guessing.

The beauty of the reproduction's sling is that they blackened the bright brass buckles.

I did come across a sling clip that fastens to your pack strap that helps lock the regular sling in place. If i can find a pic i will try and post.
You can still get the Safari Sling, just have to order direct and they charge a flat rate of $20 shipping.

Same here but I could not find the clip so I sewed a 1.5" button (huge button off and old curling sweater / winter coat) on top of of of my pack shoulder strap...Both shoulders have a button.

My sling simply slides under the button, problem solved.....NO MORE SLING SLIPPAGE.....

BTW, the sling does not get hung up on the button.
