Default Tory's Stealing some more money

Am i the only person who read the Edmonton sun from Yesterday...front page news says.."OINK OINK Tory MLA'S ok hefty retirement hike and severence pay. I am getting very tired of seeing in the papers how the gov't keeps padding their own pockets with our hard earned money and don't seem to be held accountable for their actions. I am still mad about the "no meet committee's" where thousands of dollars were pocketed for no reason....can someone please hire me and pay me some big bucks and keep paying me when i fail to show up...our gov't is stealing money from us every day and when they get caught, they just pay it back and say sorry...didnt we used to take the crooks to court and deal with them the proper way...what have i missed here? Our gov't sucks the dollars right out of our pockets and we thank them for doing that..I am so sick of all the BS that goes on...
Please read page 4 of yesterdays Edmonton sun...the stealing continues!!

That's the sense of entitlement that all governments have. Especially one that's been in power since Moses was in preschool.

Yep, and if your a federal politician you get pension at 65 while the rest of the population has to wait until 67.
It's good to be king hey?
As a parent of young children, I am trying to guide them into a line of work that they will benefit from-say from a monetary standpoint.
I'm starting to think I should lead them into a life of politics. Is there anythig better in this country?
Sure,my son has talked about being a vet because he cares about animals, and from what I have heard and seen they do well with the income. But hey, the politician has a great benefit package. Why not?

I guess we don't notice any more. It's not news.

Check out the expenses racked up by the guy the PC's put in charge of Alberta Health:

http://www.calgarysun.com/2012/08/01...ali-out-of-ahs

BTW, when Alberta folded Capital Health and created the Superboard in 2008, Merali was also paid a $1M "severance package" plus an "executive retirement plan" worth over $1.6M.

It pays to have friends inside the PC Party. It pays big.

I did not vote for this.

Doesn't surprise me one bit either and ya it may seem to them that they are entitled...but they really are not! I know it is not possible to have a gov't that looks out for all us little people. But that still shouldn't give em the green light to head to the vault every time they feel they need or entitlement to more cash...that is just wrong on every level!

I did not vote for her.

I do not think my buddy Oko can even find an excuse for this kind of behavior.

Sure would be sweet to say marry into one of the tory/family dynasties so I could get my turn at the trough.

Come to think about it I did meet one of kleins grand daughters a few years ago and she was a looker that thankfully didn't look anything like gramps.

Missed oppurtunity I guess.

Nope, Zip, you're not the only one. It was in the Herald too (I read that online every morning).

I *was* going to post something on it, but figured I'd leave it to someone else

Not surprising. "Not your father's Conservatives"... probably not.

Thanks again doetracks...hope your having a good day.

Wished I could, but like the rest of us I cant, bummer

The pension for MPs going to 65 is actually a improvment. Currently they can collect at 55 and dont contribute as much as they will in the future.

Its a small change, not enough but start

I think that things are getting worse not better Jimboy..more people are actually starting to listen and ask questions of what the gov't is doing with our money...we need a transparent gov't that makes some better decisions.
I think getting nothing but BULLFECES is well,BULLFECES...more people need to stand up and say whats on their minds and just keep asking questions of our gov't. If nothing is done to right the ship...we all sink.
It's been an interesting day today...thanks everyone for the comments and info...maybe this thread will get talked about around the water coolers at work tomorrow...Hope everyone has a great week ahead...and those of you who are out hunting next week..."lucky bass turds"

The no show committee is what helped sink Prins in our riding,he was chair of it I believe.

I door knocked for the Wild Rose, its that commitee and other finacial blunders folks were p*ssed about.

He never ran because he knew darn well he would have lost, the public are slowly loosing faith in the PC party

I didn't vote for her. (actually I think the PC's are going to pass a motion wherein all citizens will be required to capitalize all pronouns when referring to Her Highness).

There really isn't much you can do about it when there is a majority that can be lead around by the nose so easily. "Sure we will rob you blind and bankrupt the province, but the other party said something that can be misconstrued as something slightly off color."

By the by, how's that $100 oil doing? Wonder what will happen to oil prices when Mitt gets in and opens up federal lands and waters to drilling?

To all those now really silent members who voted for the Red Queen in the last election, and were very smug about how she was going to change the world.

HERE's your sign

Perhaps the best thing that happened to WR.

Let the incompetent fools wreak the place for another 4 years and then we get it done right.

The more power people hold over others the greater the chance that some sort of corruption will be involved...power = greed, corruption, lies, and not only in our gov't. The greed, corruption, lies all start at the bottom within our own towns/city's/municipal districts..etc. the higher you get up the political ladder...the greater the greed, corruption, lies become...thats a fact. I have seen that with my own eyes, makes me sick what these people in power think like...first off they are number one...and as people we are all told to "look after number one first". But they take that saying as a sense of entitelment to all the treasures they can get...hell you just have to read the papers or watch the news everyday and there is always someone who has uncovered what some of these people are doing behind their nice big solid doors that the rest of us would go to court/jail for...we are getting stolen from, lied to,and it is getting worse instead of better. Why are these people not getting thrown in jail in some cases is way beyond what i can comprehend...greed is a cancer that continues to grow in our political circles all over the provinces...it is way out of control and they know it,but hey who can stop em...would we be any different if we were in their shoes? I would like to think that there is some who would be.
Oh No...i just went on another rant here...i gotta stop doing this as my blood starts to boil and my heart rate goes way up..kinda stirs me up a bit....could you tell??
