Thumbs down A bedammned chinook!

Well woke up its 4 am the wind is howling , like 70 k and its +7*C . Opened the door water is running down the eves troughs and all I can think is damn!!!
Hell I ain't up for the -30 below but this is not good either. The fields will be rock hard now , good for yotes bad for deer. Bad for sledding, bad for grid roads. Imagine an Alberta that never got below -15*c or above -1*c from December 1 until March 1 ...

It started to spit in lloydminster around 9 pm. Ran into it on the way home at Paradise Hill. By the time I got to highway 17, the roads were getting slippery. Saw one half ton in the ditch on the way out just north of Sandy beach and one truck in the ditch on the way home. That was about 5 minutes north of Lloyd. It was plus two at the time. Hear the water running in the downspouts now.

You better tie yourself...and your tent to an ice spike.

Gusting to 120 kilometres per hour here, just checked on the stock and made sure that the shelters are all still standing. It was extremely tough walking across the yard. Snow is going fast, the driveway and the yard where it`s been plowed is under water and ice. Chores can wait for a couple of hours. Can`t imagine setting up an ice fishing shelter in these conditions, impossible.

Pretty crazy weather but almost a week above zero with it being windy can chew away the snow pretty quick if enough melts it could be a saving grace for our wildlife if not it could spell easier pickings for the yotes.

I am not complaining. This could be a blessing in disguise. Imagine come spring if there was no January melt down & the weather got warm fast.....wow more major flooding.

Positive be if we lost a bunch of snowpack so a person can get to calling some coyotes seeing how my snowmobile is out of commission.

Well the bright side is you not have to go on your roof to remove the snow. The hill tops will be blown clear of snow, good for deer. The snow will also settle which will be good for deer. The warmer weather should help the deer as well - have to eat less.

And reaching all the way into Manitoba no less.

Got off at 10:30pm last night and it was around -20 with a stiff breeze. Woke up before noon to +5 and wind gusts up to 80km/h. Would have liked to take the dog for a hike today but I'm not sure that will happen. Probably be better off with my cross country skis and using my jacket like a sail.

And the forecast is showing a rain/snow mix and down to -10 tonight. These are the days I wish I didn't live 98km away from work.
