LOVE LOVE LOVE Texas or Latino accents. Gotta say, hearing Penelope Cruz in the Nespresso commercials is way cool (and no, I don't swing that way).
Do NOT like thick East Indian accents, mainly because I have a tough time understanding. Nothing wrong with them, just difficult for me.

Funny how we can be so different...
I absolutely hate the British accent and Aussies are a close second.

Funny thing with accents is they are all put ons. Dude speaks with an accent so heavy you can hardly understand them...and then starts singing a song and viola no accent. pure BS.

Toi answer the OP's question... I cannot stand a lot of the accents that Americans have.
Some do not bother me but ebonics and crap English because of lazy ennunciation really grind my gears.

Me too. I can't understand much of the rap and crap lingo. And then the inner city ghetto language should be an alarm bell for better education.

Well aside from how irritating it is... when folks persist in talking like that it belittles them and rienforces notions.
Rather than rise above the stereotype... they build it up and help to create their own disasterous self fulfilling prophesy.
And then of course...other idiots that ought to know better... decide to lower their own standards and revel in under achievement as well.
Sorry... I would not hire anyone that pronounces ask ...axe or library...libary or that cannot speak clearly and concisely enough ion their native language to be understood.
I just thinks its lame when almost anyone living here speaking English as their second language...manages to do that better than too many who were born and educated here.
Every time I hear some kid speaking that way...the back of my hand gets itchy.

Their lazy language skills also spread to their clothing. They show off, despite not having two nickles to rub together. And then they think it is a fashion statement to walk around with their pants around their knees.

So true Lefty.
But until it's closed the accent that bugs me is the fake Texan one so many advertisers in Calgary seem to want to use, especially car dealerships. We aren't Texas. We don'twant to be Texans. Stop it. Damn you Joe Carbury!

ABB:
Interesting comment about Native accents.
Apparently the Cree accent has some real drastic changes as you move west from Ontario to Northeastern B.C.

i feel some of them play it up a bit too though. theres a difference in northern alberta fort mckay / fort chip from the pas manitoba. i actually found the guys from the pas sound more like the guys from hobbema than anything.
