When I told Ron Robinson (Fire Chief) I had a flyrod /reel for him, and how I acquired them, he has pledged a donation of $100.00 towards the cause. Once we decide where the money is going I will take care of the details and make sure the donation goes to the right place.

I have something here that I think is very cool, others may not, but if there is any interest I will pif a custom made teck vest, size m-l. It has lots of pockets and loops, great for hunting, fishing, sledding, hauling camera gear etc. I used it mainly for hauling gear while riding in the mountains, it is slick and warm.

If anyone is interested I will put pictures up.

Default .30-30 Ammo

I have a single box of 30-30 ammo. Winchester Brand in an original (orange/red/white) box looks like it was bought from Home Hardware?

170gr. Power-Point (S.P.) product # X30303

I would like to put up for the PIF.

Local pick-up only (Edmonton Area) don't want to ship ammo.

Default Turkey hunting gear

I have a size Large turkey hunting vest. Used one hunting trip in Ontario.
It has a fold down seat built in, as well as the orange flag that pops out the back for safety.Lots of pockets, mossy oak camo, nice looking.
I'll throw in the box call, a slate call and 3 or 4 different rods for the slate. If I recall I have a pouch, new with tags for the slate.

I would guess the size to be m-l, there are 8 pockets, and it hold a lot of stuff. Also, you fold the entire vest into one pocket by puilling it inside out, for packing or storing.

Things are rolling along great, well done guys. This is for the people asking me in pm how this works.

If you want to play, round up your pif's and get in the thread.

Try to keep your transactions as close as possible in value, do not take a riding lawnmower if you gave a match box car. Keep it fair for everyone.

You can give as many pif's as you wish, but do not claim more than you have given.

The giver is responsible for shipping. Please do so within 3 days of your gift being claimed. I still get the odd pm about not receiving pifs from last year.

Please let me do the thread inventory. I can handle it, and it keeps the confusion down.

Keep everything other than shipping addresses in the thread, pm's claiming gifts are not to be used. The format is again, give a pif, quote the reply of the item you would like, and add "I would like this please". Very simple.

Part 2
After the thread gets rolling, I will ask for ideas on who to name as the recipient of the donations.
Let's hold off the ideas until I bring it up though, please.

Have fun, and Go!
DO NOT PUT AN ASKING PRICE AND DO NOT AUCTION YOUR ITEM! You can show a value, but not demand amounts.

These are gifts.

I will start a poll in a few days to pick the Recipient for this year for the charity part.

I've got a couple of PIF's to post. The first is a couple of books to train GUN DOGS. One's an old library book copyright 1961 titled Revolutionary Rapid Training Method GUN DOG by Richard A Wolters. The second is copyrighted 1993 titled How to Help GUN DOGS Train Themselves by Joan Bailey. The ideas written were used to train my Brittany and I'd like to see them go to someone training a hunting dog.

My second PIF (because it's a different topic) is two books about wilderness survival. The first one is copyrighted 1974 titled WILDERNESS SURVIVAL A Complete Handbook and Guide for Survival in the North American Wilds by Berndt Berglund. The second is copyrighted 1976 titled WILDERNESS SURVIVAL (no author). There's lots of good stuff in both books.

Default Sausage stuffer

I have a new (used once) old style bell mouth sausage stuffer I would like to put up as my PIF. This is the manual plunger type that I am sure we have all seen at Canadian tire/Princess auto. It weighs a ton so would prefer p/u. Edmonton area . As well I have a dog kennel in the large/extra large size which is free to a good home............... and a 21" Sony trinitron tv........ more later, wife wants more room............

Default Columbia River Slide Sharp

I have a Columbia River Slide Sharp knife sharpener system that I only used one time. It's basically new except for a couple of strokes taken on the ceramic rod. All of the info on it can be found here:

.........and if you'd prefer a hunter's orange vest for your dog.

Lucky Dog hunter's orange hunting vest with chest protector. It's in excellent condition but I never washed it after the dog was in the bush with it so it has dirty on it. I'm petty sure that it'd come clean in the washer if you want it nice looking before your own dog gets it all dirty....lol.

The size is LARGE (LG - Neck Under 19" Chest 27" & under Stomach 24" & under) . It fit my 45 lb Brittany well with allot of adjustment left to go.

Here's more info: http://www.gundogsonline.com/dog-ves...protector.html
