Windows 8 zoom question

Windows 8 on my new laptop and navigating using the touchpad cursor and seems like whatever I am doing I somehow am constantly inadvertently changing the zoom ratio. PITA
What is going on?

windows 8 is a pile of junk, as is every touch pad I've used on 4 different brands of windows 8 computers. Zoom in, out, sideways, slight tap highlights everything, zooms, firm tap does nothing, can't scroll.....etc
Go into your touch pad settings and change them, or shut most of them off. Sucks period. Use a mouse if you can.
Some days I tempted to take them all back and throw them through the store window lol.
