Default Anybody have any input on electric knife sharpeners.

I am thinking of getting an electric knife sharpener if any body has anything good to say about them. I remember when I was young destroying my dads knives on the ones that were on the back of the can openers. I do have the Lansky setup but I want something my wife could easily use without wrecking them. Anybody have any expierence with these?

I have this one from SIR and its great.

The ultimate electric knife sharpener is compact, powerful, safe, fast and easy-to-use. It will sharpen all of your sporting, utility and kitchen knives; large and small, even electric, serrated and cleavers. One step precision sharpening system. It positions and sharpens both sides of the blade simultaneously, at the correct angle, using multiple diamond-enhanced ceramic counter-rotating wheels. Resulting in a burr-free razor sharp hollow ground edge. Black. 110 volt.

Cat. No. 520308

Price: $ 66.99

I have the chefs choice 130 it has a dimond hone disk, A stationary steel & a stroping disc works very well. I can take a blade that is very dull from hair or fish bones and have it to the point were I can shave the hair off my arm in a couple of minutes.

I've got a chefs choice 130 @ home.

I think it sucks I get my blades way sharper with a wet stone and steel.

Best system I ever used was the Edlund 401

Unfortuanetly it's around 800 bucks, that's why the chefs choice is at home.
