Tried it a few times and didn't work for me. I'm thinking it could help when calling or rattling as the deer may spot the decoy before they spot you, buying you some time for a shot before they bolt.

Default Used Deer Docoy for 8 years now.

I use a decoy at my spot, works great, I watch a 200 yard meadow off a lake, it's a natural funnel with 2 doe bedding area's just at the back end of the meadow on each side, put her right about 3/4 down the meadow facing either way away from me, gives the buck a reference point to focus on, had a nice buck last year (Nov 23rd) come in and try to mount her!!...This year I might try putting the horns on but have always been a little leary, I feel more comfortable with the decoy just being a Doe!!

CAUTION:

Be careful where you use it, I am 4 km walk back in so there is no hunters in the area.

Feeling better because its a Doe is a definite false sense of security
