Calf muscle tear

Has anyone here every had a torn calf muscle? The ER doctor last night informed me that my right calf is torn. I can't put any weight on it and it is extremely tender.

I'm not looking for diagnosis. I'm just curious whats others recovery and treatment has been. I'll be calling a physiotherapist today.

3 to 6 weeks just don't push the issue because if the tendon tears or breaks you are looking at surgery and a cast which will require recasting three times to stretch the tendon.

Bomber - it feels ok if it's immobile. Trying to move it around is a completely different story.

Thanks for the feedback 58. I'll be making an appointment with my family doctor for a proper treatment plan. The ER doc just gave me a diagnosis
