Wanna start something???
I hardly ever drive my truck. I'm not allowed to go anywhere without my wife's supervision so with the cold weather I had it plugged in with two heaters and I also had it on a trickle charger.
One of my dogs hit the cord last night when he was running around and disconnected it. Hard to believe the beast won't start.
Normally it wouldn't bother me much, but today I had a lunch date planned with an AO member in Provost where they also have a gun show this weekend.
I even have a signed pass. Well, I signed it. But I signed her name
So here I sit, whining.
So if you wanna start something with me, today's the day. I have some time this afternoon.

I wasn't planning on paying, I was planning on mooching.
The dog has a sore scrotum right now and isn't saying much.
I'm kidding of course, I'd never boot him in the scrote. Anyway it may have been YD as someone suggested. I won't be booting her either. but that's just fear and common sense.

No problem
I have my '75 Ford F250 and camper for sale. It started just fine last night - not even plugged in - 2 weeks since last start - and its a 460, which is a lot to turn over! I think the secret is to have a battery with a BIG crank rating. Since I went to a 1050 (and its just an ordinary CT shelf model), no problems at all. So, replace the wimpy battery that they put in all these things (why?), or... Like I said, it's for sale?

From an AO member?!? Good luck with that... all that was offered up to help spring me from the gulag was two nickles and some cookies.

Just get under there and rub some A5-35 on the oil pan or drop one of your little blue pills in the tank.
That should get er fired up.
Sucks....
Have you got a good heater that you can put to it under a tarp or something?
On the up side no matter what happens... at your age you will have probably forgotten about the whole thing by tomarrow.

I had a flat in the Walmart parking lot. Does that help you feel better? Sure was cold changing the tire.

BDB, He can do what I did to solve cold weather no-starts.
The 6.2 diesel chev would never start.
I stuck a roll of TP in a gallon can with methyl hydrate & slid it under the oil-slobbering engine.
Came out half hour later and the darn truck was burning
Can't say that I felt bad.
Bought a great starting Tacoma!

Great "compression". Put your house on rollers and I will tow it down the street. They were built to tow the biggest trailers, fifth wheels, and campers - the "camper special" - and that's all it has ever really been used to do. Not my point, though. The point is, GET a decent battery!! The ones the manufacturers put in most all vehicles now are not really adequate for this climate - they are "minimum". Especially if you are towing trailers or using other auxiliary power stuff. Whenever I have needed a new one for any of my vehicles I always get something up a notch (at least 100-200) in crank rating, and it makes a big difference in terms of starting in the winter. Even a "little" car, like my son's '98 Saturn 4 cyl., had issues with its little 550-650 crank when it was cold (it came from Victoria, where that was not an issue). Replaced with something a little "crankier", and no issues at all.

Thanks for all the suggestions you #$@#$%%.
Dodger I had a wee snooze and woke up to the ringing of my phone. It was a buddy from Tuscon. The @###$%% asked how the weather was and what I was doing. No card for him at Christmas.
BDB I tried the stupid blue pill. The engine is stiffer than it was before. You're not a real mechanic are you?
Omega 50. this dog can write, but he's having a problem learning to talk. I asked him how his day was going, and he said.........RUFF! I'm changing his name to "Scrote." It doesn't bother him but it drives YD nutty to have a old guy wandering the acreage yelling 'SCROTE'.
Dunezilla, sorry for your luck, man. :sHa_shakeshou t:
Lefty. I've never met the guy. He seemed like good guy even though he was on AO. I'll meet him another time I hope.
Marxman , it's not a crappy vehicle it is a Ford.

Dynamite. One stick ought to get it started. Then jack up what's left and slip a Toyota under it.

Now if we could just get that dog to memorize a script and cross breed with your favorite prey then you would have a Rote-Scrote-Yote
Mmmm. Perogies and bacon are calling my name

Man you have talent, but it isn't poetry.
The groaning that generated sounded a lot like the truck trying to start.

I think your problem is with the old starter, you should delegate a newer model to that role like this guy did. Your cars old starter seems to be missing a bearing and is probably disconnected from its crankshaft:
