Something needs to be done to help identify these lunatics. And get them in a secure facility before they kill innocent people

FIRST, they'll make you register them, then ban them.

Did you read the article?

There is no mention of a knife ban... besides that was already tried and failed.

The OP just decided to start another thread about the stabbings yesterday.

Mandel considered it in Edmonton a few years back and I believe the police chief has asked for a knife ban in the last couple of years

He was already identified and arrested and charged. The judge thought he was safe to remain in public.

This, and other quotes in the article ... “He kept asking my co-worker if he wanted to fight him,” he said. “It’s very scary. Very shocking.”

It sounds like he was a known 'nut-bar'. Why would management keep a guy like that around?!

Hey his co workers are not professionals. The professional assessment was that he was ok, good to go.
Who you gonna believe?

I noticed that he wasn't carrying a bow. It was a "combat bow".

I believe a combat bow is actually a light draw wieght bow that fires short blunt headed darts. Used like a paintball gun.

Since when have laws or bans prevented anything ?, no matter how heavy the fine or the length of the jail term.
Fines are just revenue.

Because it is difficult to fire someone until they do something.

Myself along with how many others have no clue about that. For use on the masses its all about planting the thought, a seed so to speak. Just like the two words
"assault rifle"

Side note
I googled combat bow.
Now I'm wondering about the four arrows that he had. Were they for the game?
This is the play on words I"m talking about. If they were indeed for the game, let the people know.

It could have just been black,That would make it scarey and thus become a combat weapon.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/03...cmp=latestnews

BEIJING – China's official Xinhua News Agency says at least 27 people are dead and 109 injured after a group of knife-wielding men attacked a train station in southwestern China.

Xinhua did not provide more details about the Saturday evening attack at the Kunming Railway Station in Yunnan province, and the attackers were not identified. Kunming city police did not have immediate information to release.

Local television station K6 says that several of the attackers were shot by police and that victims were being transported to local hospitals.

Photos circulating online showed scattered luggage and bodies lying on the floor in blood.

The motive behind the attack was not immediately clear, but China has seen a number of mass stabbings and other attacks carried out by people bearing grudges against society.

I guess it is a good example of how useless the gun control laws are. He didn't have a high powered assault rifle, he didn't have a high capacity magazine, he didn't even have a gun but he still managed to kill two, wound a couple more and get away before the cops showed up.

Or a bomb, a big bomb, like a nuclear bomb. Or what if he had a back pack full of thunderbolts. That would be devastating. Or a Tsunami in a thermos, that would kill a lot of people.

Good thing he didn't have an AK 47 though. That would be worse than a knife for sure.

Or the pressure cooker bombs at the Boston marathon. If you have Google and a hardware store you can make a bomb no problem.

when i saw combat bow, I just assumed it was autocorrected from compound. anyone who's not in the know about weaponry could easily make that mistake while being a liberal journalist or editor.
