Default Land Owner Maps

So I have been doing some looking around for places to hunt Huns and Sharptails come October.

I have spent a few weekends in Newell County, Warner County and County of Forty Mile; I have identified several properties in each county that I would like to have permission to hunt.

I guess the next step is identifying the owners of the property and going to see them.

Are the land owner maps available from the Municipal District offices and is there another source to obtain the maps from?

Newell County707 – 2nd Avenue East
Brooks, Alberta
Phone: (403) 362-3266

County of Forty Mile303 Main Street
Foremost, Alberta, Canada
T0K 0X0

County of Warner300 County Rd, Warner
AB T0K 2L0
403.642.3635

Thanks, it is about 3 hour drive to get down there, it there is a different way for me to get the maps, it will save me from taking a day off work.

Phone the county offices and see if you can order a map on line of over the phone and have them mailed to you. They are a great resource

I generally call the county offices directly to order maps, but you can usually get them from Map Town as well.

Map town will be a one stop shop for all of them. But yes the offices will have them as well.

not that im cheap...if your in the county office sometimes they will just give you out-of-date ones.
then cut up the map into 8 1/2 x 11 sized pieces, much easier to use, that way 'permission granted or public' properties can be hi lited, also put the landowners direct contact info or special rules on the back of each sheet, without defacing the most current map.
The only real difference would be new land owners or new roads

Call them and order. Forty Mile and Warner both sell Map books. They are on Legal Size paper and bound so you can easily flip through and find what you're looking for. Several counties make Map-books which I greatly prefer.

I'm guessing Newell does as well, but its been a while and I cant remember if I have a Newell map or book in my 'treasure chest' of maps.

Map Town is typically more expensive that the county offices but it is like hunted pointed out a one stop shop.

If you live in lethbridge there is a place on the north side, called oldman river regional office, or something like that, they have all the maps for all the counties around so it saves having to drive to each individual county, or from ordering online and waiting. Also, pick yourself up the "better book phone book" that is a great resource for numbers

you can call them and they will mail you the maps. i found that more convenient than driving all over the place. i dont know about you, but i live pretty far from where i hunt most.
