With perch I find drilling a hole in a triple A battery and dipping it in DW-40 works awesome at most lakes.

Kinda a perpetual bait generator, and most guys throw that good stuff away...

Perch are considered a sport fish yes?

So wouldn't that make it against the reg's to use perch parts as bait?

yep. entrails and all. you must extract the eye properly though. broken eyeballs are no good. go deep, in behind with your thumb and pop. fish need to be fresh, frozen are no good. been a while since i popped an eye out. sad really. the best bait for the big perch bar none.

dont know if its because I have fished since I have memory. most folks now a days seem unwilling, incapable, or grossed out by the idea. have sat pounding perch after perch, on eyeball. while they scowl right beside me. knowing what i am using but seem unable to remove a dead fish eye. show them how, do it for them a few times then let them go on there own. ???? am I that old school.

not sure what is meant by "entrails and all."

I reread pg 22 and it does not mention entrails of gamefish being legal. This would include the liver fish-killer

You best be using WD-40 made in canada because the stuff made in the US has petrolum in it. The WD made here has fish oil instead. I don;t know if that is legal either

What a Fish story!
Myth: WD-40 contains fish oil.
Fact:
Consumers have told us over the years that they have caught some of the biggest fish ever after protecting their fish hooks and lures with WD-40. We believe this legend came from folks assuming that the product must contain fish oil since it appears to attract fish. Sorry Charlie®, it just ain’t so.

WD-40 Company has taken steps to respect and conserve the environment, and encourages its users to do the same. While WD-40 can be used to help protect fishing equipment from rust and corrosion, WD-40 Company does not recommend using WD-40 to attract fish.

I sometimes use bagels as bait. Mostly day olds though. they work the best. I used to pick them up at a local bagel place. but I can't seem to remember the name............
