Got Me Woodland Caribou Fellas
I just returned home from my caribou hunt up in newfoundland,The wife and i had a blast chasing them around and when i seen this guy i had to have him.
I chased them around for a day with the bow, put a stock on this bull and could only get to 90 yards, huge rainfalls and nasty wind played havoc on us so i turned to the rifle as soon as he started running away.

I admit i don't know much about woodland caribou but I think he has pretty outstanding bottom half does he not? Looks like an old bull. How does he score out and compare to book Pat? Not that it matters but just for interest sake for me. Are they next to the perry caribou in smallest horn size?
Congrats. Nice to be able to take the wife with you as well. Now I have to study up on my caribou a bit more. From what I remember there are a pile of different types.

Yea the guide siad it was a very old bull, he had a good group of cows too,
He was very skinny but not rreally any different than any animal at the end of the heavy rut, skinny but still running alot of cows.
These horns are typically the smallest of any caribou for sure, this caribou has everythign that i need for a good score, he is roughly taped out at 285 inches and that is close to boone and crokcet but i think he will net just below for sure......There is always caribou with either tops and no bottoms, or bezzes are weak and tops are good, or no shovels with good top and bezzes.....
When my guide got excited and said oh my jesus bye hes got all the gear. lol ( newphew talk, it killed me). And when he left me about 100 yards behind i knew this was one i was going to hunt for sure.
You would never turn this caribou down up in newfoundland for sure, hes a true trohpy in any hunters books.
